Distinguishing Features

Community Energy’s second Minnesota community solar garden is located in Waconia Township and will have Solar Shares available for 170 households. This Community Solar project will give local residents the opportunity to sign up for a Solar Share and save money on their electric bills.

A leader in renewables since 1999, Community Energy has developed over 1000 MW of wind and solar power generation nationally. In Minnesota, Community Energy is developing 10 MW of community solar gardens through Xcel Energy’s Solar*Rewards Community Program. The company is also currently developing the largest solar project in Minnesota, the North Star Solar project in Chisago County.
