Community Solar Sales Job: Minneapolis—Saint Paul

Position Description
Community Energy is looking for experienced sales persons to sell solar power savings in person and over the phone to residential electric customers under fixed-price contracts.

Community Energy, a national solar developer, is currently developing community solar projects in Minnesota among other states, and will offer solar power to utility customers at locked-in prices that offer savings on their electric bill and protect against rising electric prices. Community Energy’s marketing team will provide training and marketing materials to close sales.

Sales Representatives are expected to generate leads, attain quotas and have the flexibility to work at home and set their own hours within appropriate calling periods. Successful Sales Representative may receive leads from Community Energy marketing efforts upon demonstrative of effective sales results.

Responsibilities
• Generate a pipeline of potential customers interested in solar power savings
• Persuade households to sign contracts with community solar projects in select communities
• Close the sale with signed contracts in-person and over the phone
• Follow processes on lead development and tracking
• Weekend and night work expected
• Ability to join weekly sales calls via conference line

Qualifications/Requirements
• Enthusiasm and knowledge about the renewable energy industry
• Sales experience
• Excellent verbal communication and phone skills
• Ability to learn quickly and retain new information

Compensation
The Sales Representative is an independent contractor for a 6-12 month position with the potential to continue beyond with the expected expansion of community solar. Position will commence on a retainer plus commission basis. A successful Sales Representative is expected to earn $6,000-$8,000 per month. Sales Representatives earn additional commission on self-generated leads.
